I will be the first to tell you that I was the least likely candidate to become a car fanatic. Born and raised in Palos Verdes, California, I spent most of my free time at the beach and spare money on clothes. In high school, I spent my summers working as a lifeguard and traveling throughout Europe. I love the beaches of the French Riviera and the haute couture of Paris. Naturally, I became a college sorority girl, majoring in business and communications at USC. Cars were the last thing on my mind.
I still remember the first time I had to (gasp) pump my own gas. I didn't even know which side of the car the gas tank was on! Pulling up in between the two rows of pumps, I literally rolled down my window, and exclaimed "I have no idea what I'm doing!" The employees busted out laughing at this silly little bikini-clad PV girl. Needless to say, I have never returned to that gas station.
But that was then, this is now.
Last year I dated a guy who had worked on cars probably since he can remember. Right after we started dating, he purchased an old 1967 Lincoln Continental that hadn't been touched in maybe 20 years. We began taking the engine apart, cleaning the caked on oil, stripping the paint, and repainting the parts. Check out my car photos, you'll see just how dirty that engine was!
After we broke up, I got my first car: a sterling grey 2003 BMW 530i, with the sport and premium packages. I joined bimmerforums.com, and became a car forum nerd, soaking up as much information as possible. For my first mods, I switched out the chrome for matte black grilles, got Suntek tints, and put in xenon reverse lights. I plan on installing an m5 sway bar, and, once they're painted, m5 front and rear bumpers. After attending Bimmerfest in Santa Barbara this year, however, my list of desired mods has doubled in length.
So what can you expect to find on my page? Well, I will be reviewing all different types of cars, sharing insider news from car-related events, and, of course, posting plenty of photos. I love meeting new people and am so excited to be the newest Agent at AutoSpies.com! It's nice to hear comments from ladies like you regarding auto updates. I've read that you have been to the French Riviera, that is a nice place, I have driven that place from Monaco all the way to Seville, Spain. I have been visiting AutoSpies for quite awhile, you're doing an excellent job. I'll be checking from time to time.
Have you tried the X6? That one has lots of good reviews.
